Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc. (1904-1984)
The Feldenkrais Method® (pronounced Fel/den/krice) is named for the visionary movement educator, Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais. As a young man, Dr. Feldenkrais suffered a serious knee injury while playing soccer. Given a bleak diagnosis by doctors, but determined to regain function, he began to explore the connection between movement and the processes of learning, thinking and healing.
His explorations proved so successful with his own injury that he began to teach his Method to others. Thousands have benefited from his teaching, and today there are Feldenkrais practitioners all over the globe who carry on his legacy.
