About the Program Director...

Andrea Higgins, M.A., director and founder of Kinesthetic Edge, has developed the Jump for Joy program to introduce young children to the joy of dance in a way that is ideally suited to their physical, emotional and cognitive development. Andrea has over 20 years of experience in the field of dance as a performer, choreographer and teacher. She holds a masters degree in dance, a bachelors degree in theatre arts, and is certified as a teacher of the Feldenkrais Method® of somatic education, a field that utilizes developmental movement as a means of improving self-awareness and healthy body use. Andrea’s classes foster a positive and supportive learning environment that invites students to become active participants in the creative process of learning.
