The Alexander TechniqueTM
The Alexander Technique is a form of psychophysical re-education. Focusing on simple, everyday activities, such as sitting, standing, walking and talking, the lessons explore the connection between habit and movement. By paying special attention to the moment when habits are perpetuated—the moment between thought and action—we can learn to inhibit maladaptive habits. This leaves us open to the suggestions for improved body usage offered through the teacher's touch and direction. As body usage improves, so too does our comfort and enjoyment of everyday life.
